SERPs: Optimizing for Placement

A real page about nothing at all. Can a crazy non-SEO type person like me create a web page that ranks well for the keyword in question (SERPs)? Probably not, but worth a valiant effort.

Search Engine Placement, SERPs, and Inclusion of Real Content

Does stemming make a difference when it comes to the keyword SERP, or do you really need to have the full SERPs word?

Am I officially entered into the SERPs contest?

Yes I am. I was waiting to see if I can even get this page indexed before I offiicially enter any contest regarding Search Engine Optimization. However, it did seem like an interesting idea to see if I could get a decent placement for the SERPs keyword. I went ahead and entered the contest.

How about a simple table of SERPs:

SERP 1: This is a blue-serp Humpty Dumpty
SERP 2: This is a red-serp Kings Horses

Do images affect rankings? Hopefully not, but I figured it couldn't hurt to throw one on here just to be a well rounded web page (although it really isn't relevent for the SERPs keyword). Anyway, how does Google check for content? Does it look for more than one sentence in a row and judge if it may be a completely valid paragraph for SERPish type things? Also, does it determine if SHERPishness is a word? Will this word be highlighted when this page is indexed? Who knows.

So, does this page have a chance in the contest? Probably not, but I am putting in on the web just in case.
